The third liquefied natural gas station for freight vehicles, which was planned within the framework of the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) programme, is now operating.

Butan plin is establishing a network of liquefied natural gas (LNG) filling stations for freight vehicles in Slovenia and Croatia, as part of the External link opens in new tab or windowConnecting Europe Facility (CEF) programme, run by External link opens in new tab or windowCINEA (European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency). In 2018, the first such station in Slovenia opened in Sežana, soon followed by a station in Rijeka - Croatia. They are now being joined by a station in Ljubljana.

The filling station in Ljubljana is located on Letališka cesta, operating as a self-service station and available to users every day of the year (24/7). New users must enter into a contract with Butan plin, and obtain a payment card that allows them to refuel their vehicles. Potential users can place their orders or get more information about the terms and conditions at silng@butanplin.si

The use of LNG brings an environmentally cleaner fuel alternative for road freight transport, lower exhaust emissions and lower noise levels.
